4/5 ★ – Aevari's review of Doki Doki Literature Club!.

A while ago I would have rated this much higher, but now that I've been through it a couple times and seen playthroughs and explanations and stuff, it feels like it's gotten kind of old. I mean, the game's 4 years old now; this was kind of to be expected. The art is very good, and the concept is very interesting and well-executed. It's a fun time with some solid scares your first couple times through. The first act of the game gets pretty boring tho. The whole section where it's just a regular visual novel gets really lame really fast. It's a justifiable inclusion considering the point of the game, and I'm sure a lot of regular visual novel players were even more disturbed than other people, but for those regular people it probably could have been trimmed down a bit. Very good game, though, especially as a free game.
