2.5/5 ★ – AlfredoBeettus's review of Valheim.

I cannot remember another game that I liked so much and I abandoned it... When I started Valheim I was having a blast. No mods at all, just having fun exploring, crafting, in a interesting world with an interesting objective. Kill 6 big bosses and go from a viking in underpants to a mighty warrior. All that accompanied but a freaking phenomenal soundtrack. The first three bosses were a joy to play and slay. Played with a friend which made it even better. Then, out of nowhere, the difficulty curve spiked IMO in an unfair degree. When in the mountain, plains or mistlands you cannot be hit even once. It does not matter that you have full armor (the best one possible). You are 2hit-KO by almost every mob. And for an open world as huge as valheim, where you are supposed to travel by boat in grand voyages, dying every so often makes it not worthy to explore. We tried mods. Travel mods essencialy, but then combat aid mods too. The game stopped being fun. You start to question your skill... your will to play so many hours just to retrieve your items after dying. Got into ashlands. Could not make myself want to explore the biome. To quote another review I read somewhere, "You have alot of fun playing Valheim, until you don't."
