5/5 ★ – Aliliane's review of BioShock Remastered.
The best FPS game ever made, and the best game ever designed. This isn't just a game, it's an artistic masterpiece. The beautiful and creepy visuals of Rapture's underwater dystopia is breathtaking. You could stare at it for hours and you wouldn't get enough of it. It fits the game's themes just perfectly. I can't imagine the amount of creativity that had been put into this chef d'oeuvre. From the very first scene, you're already deep into Bioshock's oceanic world. You're already excited and curious after watching Andrew Ryan's video— it makes you think you're about to see his utopia, but the first thing you witness is someone brutally killing another. The place dark and messy. You're in for a ride! You gather the story through audio recordings, which is a very unique form of story-telling that kept me intrigued and always working to collect them all. I'm afraid if I talk too much about this game's story I would spoil it since its plot twist is absolutely SHOCKING. I believe everyone must experience it in one way or another... Not playing it is a huge loss. It's worth everything. Andrew Ryan is my favorite villain of all time, and the first encounter when we finally see him face to face still sends a shiver down my spine to this day. The cutscene is unforgettable. I have his entire monologue pretty much memorized. BioShock will forever be an immortal work of art, and a proof that good games can end and still be valuable to everyone who played it during its time.
