4/5 ★ – Amine2's review of The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.
I really enjoyed this game. The dungeons and a few of the bosses were definitely the types that I want in a Zelda game, where some of them were more open and exploratory dungeons while some others were more linear but had a ton of enemies to keep you on your toes. The Manta Ray boss in the Palace of Winds was great, and Vaati was not only challenging, but what I kind of look for in a last boss, where your abilities that you've used throughout the series is put to the test. The items you get from dungeons are also used outside of those dungeons in many areas which makes them memorable, unlike some 3d Zeldas. Hyrule is pretty small this time around but there's still a lot to do using your minish ability to become small, doing sidequests to get heart pieces and rupees, etc. The Kinstone pieces are how most of the sidequests in this game are done, and while people say it makes the game grindy, I never really had an issue with it, rather it made most of the NPCs more than just some random character. Although not many of the quests are too memorable, to be fair since they end so quickly. You can also make figurines but I didn't bother since it takes forever and I just don't care about it. I'll stick with wind waker for that.
I beat the game with 19 3/4 hearts, had 7 Kinstone fusions left, and majority of the figurines quest (the last heart piece is only obtainable if you finish that quest), and I'm satisfied. Great game with a good set of dungeons and some nice bosses, but the sidequests could've been handled better. The story too. While Vaati's design and boss fight are cool, he doesn't really do much throughout the story to really compare to Ganon or Majora. He's just a villain you have to defeat, which is underwhelming.
Either way 4/5.
