2.5/5 ★ – AndyCT's review of Gotham Knights.
Really threatens to lose the good will generated by a rich world and compelling characters by demonstrating a huge lack of respect for a player’s time.
From an entirely unnecessary levelling and gear system, to boss battles which lose their sense of fun when extended life bars drive you to, go away and grind more, or to repeat flawless actions ad-nausium.
While I stuck with this, driven by the story and compelling characters, I found the bloat and expectation of engagement with procedurally generated random missions to pad out the run time a real chore. This coming from someone who has collected a lot of Riddler trophies in his time (I even did his race tracks).
A sad example of a series brought low when the bean counters over the creatives get to call all the shots.
