3.5/5 ★ – Anteater's review of Voodoo Vince: Remastered.
This is one of the games I played on an Xbox Demo Disk when I was 6 or 7, was kinda scared of (it was just edgy enough that it felt bad to be playing it as a good Christian boy), and kinda forgot about. Curiosity got the better of me and I was looking for a short and sweet platformer to play while I finish up Persona 5 Royal, and this worked wonderfully. It's pretty bog standard as far as mechanics and general gameplay go, but it has such a unique ideas like the Louisiana bayou setting and goofy Voodoo finishers that I can appreciate it for that alone. Won't blow your mind, humor's pretty rough even for 2003, and it has some of the jank that comes with that era, but it's guaranteed to make you smile or appreciate a creative level or idea at least once.
