Hades feels like a grand culmination for Super Giant, who’ve been creating games while most people have skim over them for the past years. Hades is the most polished rouge like game I’ve ever played, built for die hard fans of the genre but also new comers. The plot is a wonderfully personal story, slowly unfolding throughout each new run, uncovering the mystery of Zagreus’ family. The art of Hades is gorgeous as well, whether it be the character designs of the Greek pantheon, or the underworld itself. Hades is Super Giant’s best work yet.
