‼️SPOILERS‼️
But it was a great adventure for our heroes. If someone has not played GOW 2018 and wants to play Ragnarok, they must make up for the previous part because it is a direct continuation of the story / events.
• Gameplay - Not much has changed here, the mechanics are the same as in GOW 2018, only what we have here is a new type of weapon (spear) which is really great for me. In this part, as usual, in addition to the main missions, we have various types of side missions, variously called, e.g. favors, etc. So, in addition to saving the world, our god of war will play the role of a gardener who will look for flowers, a cook who will look for ingredients, a zoo employee who will catch dragons and deer etc, everyone will find something for themselves. Of course, there will be hunting for Odin's ravens, although here I have the impression that they are easier to find because in 2018, after finishing the storyline, I had to look for half of the ravens, and here I only missed 10 after the storyline, and I didn't really focus on cleaning everything in one go I will swing as much as I can. Beautifully varied, as usual, locations from the sands of the desert to the icy outback. Very nice places with atmosphere. There are no x valkyries that need to be killed but there are like their counterparts in the form of Berserkers who are not demanding as die has leveled equipment but their king that appears after killing the rest is (for me) a massacre. All I called the TV was some kind of cosmos because I always had about 2-3 hits left and he knocked me out and kaput. After some trying, it finally worked. Then there's Queen Valkyrie, which is OBVIOUSLY very easy. I went to her just to check what it was with and on the first try I defeated her with more than half of my life left and the whole resurrection stone.
I had a problem to create one artifact and I thought there was a bug or something but then it turned out that I just didn't pick up the last missing scroll 🙃 the first time something was bugged because instead of an item I had a glowing ray that couldn't be picked up and I thought that I already took it and never looked at this place again...
• The plot - well, here it is perfection for me, a very nice plot, references to the earlier life of Kratos, independent Atreus who is no longer such a little boy who will do everything daddy says.
I enjoy Kratos' truce/consensus with Freja the most, I liked her character in the previous part and didn't like how fiercely Freja sought revenge (although that's understandable).
I was very surprised to play Atreus here, although his attacks are not very strong, but I think the creators want to slowly get us used to the new main character or DLC hero (I will mention later).
I would never have expected (as probably everyone, the creators nailed us like never) that Tyr would actually be Odin impersonating him. He knew everything and tried to keep quiet and secretive to have access to everything our heroes were planning. I can't help but mention Ratatosk's new friend who offers us several quests but what's interesting is that if you keep ringing his bells...not the ones you mean just ringing ones 🤨 he'll yell at us to STOP RINGING BELLS.
And the saddest moment, i.e. Brok's death and the funeral itself, which could make a few tears, I still can't believe that the creators killed him, which totally broke Sindri and seems to be in total disarray, and maybe he will even seek revenge on Kratos and the rest because he trusted them, gave them a roof, food, knowledge and talent, and his brother was taken from him, whom he had already brought back to life once. A very sad moment for me that shocked me.
And finally, Atreus, who set out alone for adventures and help, and now Kratos and Mimir's companion is Freja. I see it in some DLC because I don't think Atreus would become the main character at such a young age when Kratos slowly retires.
As for Kratos himself, I honestly don't know what the creators can come up with for the next part. Imo it won't be Norse mythology anymore because our enemies have crumbled so what's next? I would love to see Kratos among the Egyptian or Slavic gods, but we'll probably wait a bit for some official teasers.
• Soundtrack - a masterpiece here, such a nice soundtrack that of course I had to add some notes to my favorites on Spotify, such as
- A Son's Path
- Blood Upon the Snow
ASP during the transformation during ragnarok gives you the shivers 😌
To sum up, the game, despite the fact that the price may have gone up a bit (because I saw that it was about PLN 320+), is very nice, pleasant and worth playing. If someone is not sorry to spend money or has collected and put aside, I recommend it because it's worth it.
