3/5 ★ – Arysto98's review of Mafia: Definitive Edition.
#MafiaDefinitive Edition #platinum
• 🏆 Platinum No. 15
• 🎮 rating 7/10
• 🚦 Difficulty Level: Hard
‼️SPOILERS‼️
The fifteenth platinum on my account, which probably played on my nerves the most because of the need to play at the classic level + this unfortunate race.
• GAMEPLAY - A game that someone either loves or hates. Unfortunately, in order to get platinum, you have to pass on the classic difficulty level, i.e. on hard (which I don't like in games). We are very vulnerable to shots, 2-3 balls and we are down. The biggest problem is probably the ammo, which is next to nothing. For missions, maybe 1-2 boxes, so here you also need to aim well and save bullets (it's a pity that NPCs have infinity amo). The same with healing, and the worst thing is that after we die, the health bar, unfortunately, does not fill up, but remains as it was before death.
The icing on the cake is of course the race through which I wanted to uninstall this game as soon as possible but after X attempts, seven sweats and the rest of my nerves I finally made it 😮 💨. Then it flew downhill. I honestly thought that the fight with the boss would be difficult, that you would have to shoot iwgl, and to my surprise it was enough to shoot down the starting plane and that's it 😐 it's cool for me, but I was focused on a slightly harder effort than holding R2 and L2. The ending is easy but exciting.
• PLOT - I wasn't expecting a mega addictive adventure in terms of story and I wasn't disappointed either. The scheme is quite predictable, we start the chapter, order from the boss, travel from point A to point B, fight, return and end of the chapter. Next chapter, same thing again. It didn't grab me at first, but the more I got into it, the more I became interested in it. I was hoping for some sort of reckoning between Tommy and Salieri for his actions contrary to the instructions, but somehow it got sideways and it was only mentioned at the end in the cutscene. And speaking of the end, the last 2-3 chapters are probably the most exciting and unpredictable. It was predictable in the beginning, but I didn't expect the ending. The murder of Paulie by Sam, who he had been working with from the beginning? I was super sorry. And finally, Salieri's revenge for Tommy putting him in jail, and Tommy did a lot of good work there.
To sum up:
The game is average for me, there's nothing WOW here, but somehow it doesn't get boring especially towards the end. Platinum FOR ME difficult because of the requirement to play on classic. In addition, the trophies are not difficult and most will fall on the way, such as collecting 30 cars. I needed 5 to complete. Collectibles can be tedious and tiring but they are not difficult, simple collecting. I used yt videos.
