2.5/5 ★ – Austopasto's review of MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM BATTLE OPERATION Code Fairy.

I should start by saying I haven't played MSG: Battle Operation 2 and I don't plan to. I'm not a fan of multiplayer games in general, especially loot box/micro-transaction filled ones. So I picked this up as it seemed like a neat little single player game to scratch the Gundam itch. I can't say I'd recommend it to anyone who isn't a huge fan of the franchise. The characters are likable enough in a vacuum but a huge thematic miss, as generic cutesy anime girls don't fit into the Universal Century Gundam universe at all. It's a side story based around a small Zeon squad in Side 3, taking place during the OYW, and largely inconsequential. You're here for the gameplay, not the story. And the gameplay is alright. The mechs are clunky and nearly every action has a cooldown, making you play more strategically than your standarad 3rd person FPS. But there isn't nearly enough variety in mechs or combat styles to make me ever want to return to this. Even on sale, I don't think it's worth the cost of admission.
