4.5/5 ★ – AzulAzuril's review of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.
Smash 3DS is a shockingly good game. At the time of its release, I was obsessed with this game. Being able to play Super Smash Bros on the go was a wild experience, and even with the lack of power in the 3DS the game runs near flawlessly. I find the speed and flow of Smash 4 to be a really great pace, and the fact that the 3DS could handle this is so impressive.
Smash 4 introduced a number of great characters with unique playstyles, such as Rosalina, Mega Man, and Duck Hunt. The stage selection on the 3DS version is pretty good (maybe superior to the Wii U version) and the presentation for the game is really sleek. Playing Smash on the go was such a fun memory, and one of the things that made this game so good was the addition of Smash Run. I’m honestly shocked they didn’t bring Smash Run back to Ultimate, because exploring a giant map and gaining stat boosts is such a fun concept. Overall, I think Smash 3DS is a really great entry in the franchise, and maybe one that gets overlooked a little bit, but I would highly recommend it.
