4.5/5 ★ – BCTheTruth's review of Dispatch.

Dispatch isn’t just one of the standout titles of 2025 — it’s a beautiful experience that firmly cements itself among the greatest narrative-driven games ever made. This immersive thriller doesn’t simply tell a story; it pulls you into it, grips you tightly, and refuses to let go even after the credits roll. From the very first moment, Dispatch is utterly absorbing. Its atmosphere, visual direction, and sense of cinematic tension are nothing short of phenomenal. Every scene feels purposefully crafted to keep you engaged with the story at all times. I found it very difficult to put my ROG Ally down once I started playing this on it. The game’s presentation is rich and evocative — making it one of the most uniquely immersive narrative experiences of this generation. Dispatch’s gameplay takes the narrative-choice formula to the next level. It’s an evolution of interactive storytelling itself. Every call, every hesitation, every tone of voice in the protagonist’s responses feels meaningful, creating a perfect fusion of player agency, emotional intuition, and high-stakes decision-making. The pressure of responding correctly under time-sensitive constraints makes every moment tense, personal, and unforgettable. It sets a new standard for narrative choice games and thrillers in general. Narratively, Dispatch is both gripping and deeply human. It weaves an emotionally charged story of fear, responsibility, and redemption, all conveyed through impeccable writing and voice acting. The characters are layered and believable, each dealing with their own burdens and personal demons. Just when I thought I had a situation figured out, the game threw another twist or emotional punch that left me stunned. By the end, I felt connected to every major character and completely invested in their fates. The sound design and voice acting is exceptional and executed with precision. The soundtrack subtly underlines the tension without ever overpowering it. Despite having some choices that really matter and adjust how things playout slightly, the game is really quite linear. This isn't a bad thing, but it is different from what these interactive narrative games try to sell you on the surface. I had a blast with my time in Dispatch, but I did feel like the game was too short. It could benefit greatly from a slower build with more Dispatch missions. More episodes to really flesh out all the relationships before the big finale. Overall, Dispatch is a triumph — a brilliantly executed blend of emotional storytelling, innovative design, and nerve-wracking immersion. It’s an extraordinary achievement, especially given its modest scope and focus. Against all odds, it outshines nearly every other thriller released this year and sets a new standard for what I want from narrative-driven games moving forward. 4.5 out of 5 stars = Phenomenal Pros: + Incredible Storytelling + Intense, Immersive Atmosphere Exceptional Voice Acting and Sound Design + Innovative Choice-Driven Gameplay Deep Emotional Impact Cons: - Some choices don't matter at all - Too short
