4/5 ★ – Batman_Beware's review of Resident Evil 3.

While not as good as Resident Evil 2 Remake, this is a really solid follow up and I think gets unwarranted hate. It is pretty much Resident Evil 2.5 but the additions in gameplay are welcome. Switching from Jill to Carlos instead of just playing as one for the entire time was a nice change of pace and I think was done better than Ada’s limited playtime in RE2R. Jill as a protagonist was even better than I thought she’d be. She’s right up there with Leon and Chris for the best protagonists in the series. The Nemesis was a huge part of this game, almost as much as the T-Virus itself. While the chases and fights were great I just didn’t find him anywhere near as scary as Mr. X. Overall RE3R is a really good game. Note: I’ve been told that this remake cut out a lot from the original RE3 and that’s where a lot of the hate comes from. But on its own as someone who never played the original I enjoyed it quite a lot.
