Finally, a Mystery Dungeon game arrives in the West in the form of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. It is too bad that, even though the game exhibits some genuinely enjoyable moments, I found the core gameplay loop to be generally sluggish and repetitious. The GBA version illustrates the need for additional face buttons and a second screen, which the DS version obviously remediates. But I would be remiss not to mention the game's wholesome and surprisingly moving story, which pays off well in the end.
