5/5 ★ – Ben64's review of Hades.

I actually played Hades in early access and just couldn't get into it. Maybe it was the headspace I was in at the time, I'm not exactly sure, but I just couldn't get into it even though I wanted to so badly. Fast-forward to its final release, with widespread critical acclaim across the gaming industry, I figured it deserved another shot, and I'm glad that I gave it one. The world is flourished with amazing characters, environments, a story that I needed to learn more about, and seamlessly/effortlessly incorporated Greek Mythology into gameplay mechanics and the world. Hades does a superb job at giving players the feeling of progress. I didn't fear death because I knew that it would allow me to get to know more about each of the robust cast of characters. I actually felt more confident after each death and knew I would be stronger when I returned, leading me to fight against my own body's natural instinct to want to sleep for just "one more run." And just when you think you made it to the end of the game, you realize that you’ve only just started!
