3.5/5 ★ – BenIsBread's review of Kid Icarus: Uprising.

I almost wish I could leave multiple different reviews, because I have a lot of conflicting feelings about this game. I enjoyed it, but I had to force myself to finish it. The controls were pretty good in the air, but on land they were super clunky, and for the last 6 levels are so I just put the difficulty all the way down and controlled it with the buttons instead of the touch screen. The story was a bit all over the place, but the one thing I will say is that the characters and writing were consistently really fun, and that carried the game for me. The only reason I kept playing after the fun wore off was because I wanted to see the story through to the end, and experience more of the fun writing and voice work. The graphics were beautiful, well as beautiful as you can get on a 240p screen, and I did enjoy the rail shooting sections. But the on foot sections I didn’t love as much, and that was a good 60-70% of the game. Overall I’m glad I played it and I would recommend people try it, but maybe look up a play through if the gameplay starts to drag.
