5/5 ★ – Bolibic's review of Resident Evil 4.

The. Best. Resident Evil. Remake. Ever. Created. If you’re a fan who grew up with Resident Evil and have a deep love for the series, or if you’ve just heard nothing but good things about it and want to dive into the remakes, trust me—this game won’t disappoint. Well, maybe the Resident Evil 3 remake was a bit of a letdown, but Resident Evil 4 Remake? It’s a masterpiece. The story remains mostly intact, even though they’ve trimmed some parts of the original. However, the inclusion of the Ada DLC elevates the entire experience to a whole new level. The game is still the same in essence, with a few modifications and cuts, but it’s a remake, and they’ve done an incredible job with what they’ve delivered. You’ll still experience the core story, and the changes feel justified. Let’s talk about graphics—wow, they’re breathtaking. The level of detail in the environments is stunning, and each area evokes a different set of emotions. From the village to the castle, to the lab (which gave me trauma), and the military base—each location is a masterpiece in its own right. The way they’ve redesigned Leon OMG, and all the other characters too, is just perfect. The character models are so well-crafted that it’s hard not to be impressed. As for gameplay, it’s incredibly easy to pick up, whether you're using a controller or keyboard and mouse. The mechanics are fluid, intuitive, and just a lot of fun. The combat feels tight, and the pacing is perfect, which makes every encounter exciting. The game keeps you on the edge of your seat, whether you’re fighting hordes of enemies or solving puzzles. The AI of characters like Ashley has improved. She’s not the constant nuisance she was in the original game, always getting in your way. Don’t get me wrong, she still requires a bit of babysitting (about 300 times per playthrough, haha), but it’s nowhere near as annoying as before. Still, it's not perfect, but it’s definitely better. The atmosphere is another highlight. The game does a fantastic job of creating tension and excitement through its settings, lighting, and sound design. Every area feels alive and immersive, pulling you deeper into the world of Resident Evil 4. The music also complements the mood perfectly, adding to the emotional weight of the experience. Performance is also worth mentioning. I played it on a mid-range PC, and it ran smoothly without major issues. The frame rate was stable, and the game felt polished across the board. Whether you're playing on a high-end rig or something more modest, the optimization is top-notch, ensuring a smooth and immersive experience. The game offers fantastic replayability as well. From different difficulty levels to hidden secrets and unlockable content, there’s always something new to find. Plus, the changes they’ve made to the gameplay and story make it worth revisiting even if you’ve played the original. The DLC and extra modes further extend the game’s life. In conclusion, I highly recommend this game not only to OG fans but also to newcomers who want to experience what Resident Evil is all about. The remakes have been consistently amazing, and Capcom has really knocked it out of the park with this one. You can’t go wrong here. Whether you’re a veteran or just starting, this game is an unforgettable experience. For me personally, this remake feels like home—it’s a comfort zone I keep coming back to, and I’ll be playing this for a long time.
