5/5 ★ – Bunkos's review of Terraria.

Taking into count several platforms and playthroughs, Terraria is probably my second most played game. At the time of writing this, it is also my favorite game of all time. I recently started an expert mode run for the first time, and let me tell ya, it has completely changed the way I view the game. Never have I taken into count every single item and material at my disposal like this. I don’t think it should be your first exposure to the game, but expert mode is definitely Terraria at its best. It makes the already perfect progression that more satisfying. The start can be crushingly difficult, but beating that first boss is oh so worth it. The amazing soundtrack and sprite work makes it a joy to revisit Terraria. It’s such a nice atmosphere, even when you’re fighting red mushy zombies. I know it’s not as easily accessible in multiplayer, but if you can find a friend to play with you, it can be a really memorable experience. It really doesn’t match the creative competitions of Minecraft, but working together to beat every boss can feel great. Terraria just does such a good job at making you feel like you’ve mastered it. You’re efforts are clearly rewarded, and it’s everything I could ever want from a game.
