4/5 ★ – CS11__'s review of Control: AWE.

“Things set in motion. If the alarms true, then so is the reason for the alarm. The effect just follow the cause it’s happening again… A return…“ Gameplay wise, environment wise AWE is not the most unique or interesting, it’s more Control, which is fine. I would’ve liked it to stand out in that element but with the times, i can’t complain too much. But man. Even with his short than expected presence, seeing Alan Wake in the game, continuing his story, writing the story…or not…Potentially being the cause of Control as a whole. I love how he really is the DNA of the entire world, it fucking rocks. All the case files, all the records, all the callbacks to Alan Wake 1, stuff that expands and then improves upon elements from that game, stuff that sets up the sequel (assumingly), i loved reading through it all. The inclusion of Dr Hartman aswell is incredibly cool, especially in such a huge, weird but interesting capacity. This really feels like the next step for Alan Wake leading to AW2, which is what i hoped for and im more than satisfied, i just have so many things on the mind which i can’t wait to see play out.
