4/5 ★ – Callum_Bampton's review of Ratchet & Clank.
Guns, Bolts and a game based on a movie based on a game about guns and bolts and stuff.
Many years ago I played one of the older Ratchet and Clank games, not sure which one but I remember enjoying it, fast forward to now having played this one has made me remember why I enjoyed the game the previous time.
First and foremost the game was gorgeous visually, the sound was a joy, the art style of each planet adding new enemies and new landscapes with a variety in setting and unique gameplay between the different worlds, was a treat to be sure.
Ratchet and Clank among other characters stood out and were bursting with personalities brought to life through there voice actors performances, the dialogue was entertaining throughout.
And so in fact was the gameplay, this action packed platform adventure was a delight to blast my way through with a wide arrange of weapons all with exciting and explosive outcomes, I enjoyed using them all and upgrading them even if at times to max them all out was somewhat of a drag, unlike the rest of the experience which left you wanting more, even the cards and Gold bolts that needed to be collected were few and far between that it was not bothersome to find them and was more fun than tedious.
The story itself was a rollercoaster of thrilling non stop world hopping action, with some funny and even touching moments from time to time.
Not particular long but sufficient enough to be a complete experience.
So the game was fun, with the gameplay, story and characters all doing a fantastic and complementary job to each other gives this game heart and incentive to the player to give it another go from time to time to have a blast for an evening fit for that of a ‘Galactic Hero’
