5/5 ★ – ColeTrain's review of Halo 4.
I actually really enjoyed Halo 4 a lot the new story elements are very interesting with the introduction of the Prometheans an ancient race of former Forerunners that got turned into robots by the new antagonist the Didact if I remember correctly . I also found it interesting how the Didact takes over the Covenant as well and becomes a God-like figure to them . The dynamic between Master Chief and Cortana is also very well done with Chief having to deal with letting his faithful companion Cortana go due to her mental degradation along with fears of the unknown . Ok now on to gameplay it might take a bit of getting used to Halo 4 because of the new abilities at your disposal like the turret that floats in place and fires a slow moving projectile at your enemies , the Hard Light Sheild which you can probably guess by the name can block incoming bullets and grenades and the Jetpack which lets you fly for a short amount of time to name a few . Alright time to talk about the guns of course you have your classics like the Assault Rifle , the hard hitting shotgun , the DMR a scoped semi automatic rifle that's very powerful and the Storm Rifle a super fast shooting Covenant gun that overheats quickly to balance its speed and power and those just a few of the guns you'll be able to use in your rather vast arsenal . Lastly one of the negatives is that they removed the ability to dual wield pistols from the game which kinda sucks because it was a prominent feature in the previous two games . Despite the lack of dual wielding it's still my second favourite Halo game and it's a lot better than people would have you believe . Give it a shot you might find it has a lot more to offer than you think .
