4.5/5 ★ – ColeTrain's review of Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways.
This was excellent additional content for RE4 I actually really enjoyed it a lot.You play as Ada Wong who's attempting to obtain a parasitic sample from the same cult who's captured the President's Daughter and that's kind of the general idea of her storyline. As far as gameplay goes of course the same principles from the base game apply however with a more limited selection of weaponry. Starting off you get the Blacktail a pistol that's fully automatic. You can still buy things from the Merchant like the Bowgun which uses explosive arrows, the TMP which is basically a SMG that shoots really fast , the shotgun which works wonders up close and the sniper which is good for shooting from a distance. Ada also has access to using a fan kick which works similarly to Leon's kick only being when useable when you're prompted to by pressing the X button (that is if you're playing on Xbox anyways ). You can still use a knife as well. Another piece of equipment Ada has access to is the grapple gun which can be used to get to otherwise unreachable areas.Time to talk about the good and the bad for one it has a pretty good length to it for being additional content which was suprising to me there's five chapters in total. I liked seeing things from Ada's perspective and what she's up to during the events of the main campaign. They did a good job with her character which I wasn't expecting to be honest. Another interesting thing is you get to visit other sections of areas that you see in Leon's campaign. Now the bad for one the enemies are kind of bullet sponges so you'll have to dump a heaping helping of bullets into them before they take nice dirt nap. Another thing is that one of the later sections of this campaign is kind of confusing as to where you have to go after you complete your objective because on your map it shows you're near where you have to go next however actually getting there was much trickier because the door you have to go through is hidden by a wall with an opening in it that leads to the exit and if that sounds confusing that's because it is! Overall though it's an enjoyable experience and is a nice bit of extra content if you're craving more of RE4.
