2.5/5 ★ – Daninrl's review of Fort Solis.

"Walking Simulators" get a bad name that in my view they don't deserve but Fort Solis speaks to the worst instincts of genre. It's dull, littered with random documents and audio logs which do little to entertain and I feel like a bored spectator rather than startled participant. The plot is one you've seen a dozen times before done in a dozen better ways, only in Fort Solis we're merely the naive rescue team who appear in the post-credits scene once everything interesting has already happened. There is no urgency, there is to threat, the villain does not intimidate and atmosphere is missing entirely. The second half of the game picks up a bit as we shift to Julia Brown's Jessica, a more endearing and interesting character with excellent voice acting but the game is too short lived to capitalise on that shift in perspective. If you're looking for a horror, sci-fi walking simulator you're far better off seeking your thrills in the genuinely scary, atmospheric and brilliantly written 'Soma.'
