4/5 ★ – DanteHR's review of CONV/RGENCE: A League of Legends Story.

We have been hit by yet another game from "Riot Forge" and it is not disappointing. "Convergence" is a game in a different region than "The Mageseeker", but at the same time, it takes place in the "League Of Legends" universe . "Convergence: A league of Legends Story" is the 3rd game from "Riot Forge" and the 2nd best. Made by "Double Stallion", "Convergence" is a super fun platformer and succeeded with shades of Metroidvania. The combat in "Convergence" is super satisfying, with a mechanic to turn back time, a new mechanic in games of this kind. the game will teach you how to use along the way , certain time control abilities to protect yourself or deal damage to enemies. The skills you will unlock along the way are not only for combat, but also to unlock certain passages or shortcuts. The platforming in the game is super satisfying and a little difficult, the perfect difficulty for this kind of game. The variety of enemies is quite good, at the beginning you only have very basic enemies like in any other metroidvania/platformer. (one guy with a sword and one guy with a gun/any other fire weapon). Along the way you meet all kinds of unique enemies and in the following areas, the enemies receive a certain buff to make them more difficult. Also, as in "The Mageseeker", half of the bosses in "Convergence" are copy-pastes from "League Of Legends". We can meet our favorite champions as well as: Warwick, Jinx and Camille. In the game, certain traps can be very annoying, even with the ability to turn back time. As in any Metroidvania, the game has a "Hometown", where "Ekko" can meet his friends, also any unpredictable friend has a shop, a shop for cosmetics and one for skills, skills can be bought with currency from the game.. very similar to the one from "The Mageseeker". Graphically, the game looks super good, I could say it looks a little better than "The Mageseeker", but with a different artstyle. The art style is very pleasing to the eyes, very colorful, but at the same time post-apocalyptic. Each area is super colorful and the character designs are top-notch, much more detailed than the game from which they were inspired. Also, each effect is of very high quality and looks great. Apparently all Riot games have good music, I hope that in the future they will find the perfect type of music for the respective games. On the other hand, there are also extraordinarily good sounds, every shot and every skill given feels and sounds perfect. Movement as well, each step or dash has a separate sound. The music, oh the music, it's perfect, it's a different musical style compared to "The Mageseeker", but let's be serious, they're two different games, with different aspects. The story in "Convergence" is also a very simple one, the same case as in "The Mageseeker", with certain plot twists but with a lot of talking. In the game, you cross the city "Zaun" in the role of "Ekko", a young inventor with a device that allows him to rewind time. He and his friends must work together to save themselves and to keep his hometown safe, but as the danger looms, "Ekko" realizes that he can't trust anyone, not even "him". "Convergence" delivers a lot for a game of its scale, with a lower budget than a AAA one. The game has great Gameplay, great music and a super good and pleasant art style for the eyes. I could say again that "Convergence" is a must-buy for people looking for a super good platformer with an equally excellent gameplay, especially at a price of $30. You can easily have fun for 8-10 hours. 8/10 Made by DanteHR
