3.5/5 ★ – DanteSnowcone's review of Crankin's Time Travel Adventure.
Weirdly, this is the most fun I’ve had with a Takahashi game since Katamari. It’s endlessly frustrating in its design, but there’s something about the precision it requires that kept me cranking all the way to the last date.
The obvious thing holding this game back is the need to reuse assets to keep the file size small, but then having those assets behave differently in different scenarios even though they look exactly the same. In a game where you’re supposed to learn how each obstacle behaves so that you can accurately time out your run, that is annoying. But I love the idea of a perfect run, and as you get to some of the harder levels, that’s exactly what you need to get through the gauntlet of pigs, poops and boomerangs.
I don’t know what Crankette sees in this man. He is CONSTANTLY late. She should have dumped him ages ago! Have some self respect Crankette!!!
I liked this. Fun game with a good use of the crank. Keep em coming.
