4.5/5 ★ – DarkDrawer's review of Mega Man 3.

It's amazing what little advances in movement make this game feel so much better. Mega Man 3 gives Mega Man the slide and like Sonic being added a spindash, it feels right at home. The new robot masters are pretty fun and the levels aren't too unfair. The new story element to this adventure is Protoman coming in for a fight in a few of the stages. In very simple pixelated storytelling and after fighting him a few times, Protoman will return the favor. This would be better than Mega Man 2 as the mobility and added Rush moves are fun, however, this game adds some unnecessary levels. After beating all the robot masters, you have to refight all the robot masters of Mega Man 2 (they are Wily Robots with those robot masters' powers). This adds 4 levels that completely drag this game out. I do think the Wily levels are better this time around with less insane difficulty. Something that helps with this is the addition of E tanks being able to be stacked after game overs. None of the bosses were obtuse and the final boss can even be oneshot with a certain move. All in all, a fantastic classic Mega Man game that unfortunately contains some annoying padding.
