3/5 ★ – DarrensTrashBag's review of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

As this game switches over to Source 2, as I have spent 2000 hours in this game, I can safely say that this game is good when it works, and atrocious when it does not. The best part of this game is the level of strategy, whenever you make a good play, you get an adrenaline dose and feel like a genius. Pro Counter-Strike is the best part of Counter-Strike. The bad part is the SBMM. No one plays the other modes so it is either always encounter cheaters on wingman, play against children on danger zone, or play what everyone else plays. You have to play with friends to even have remotely a good time. The servers are terrible so hit reg is broken, bullet accuracy is broken, are there are tons of cheaters. The highest I was able to get is LEM just by solo queuing. People do not listen to you are are mostly toxic. They blame you for missing shots and then start throwing. This game contains the worst community I have played against. The teams are also incredibly unbalanced, I have had hundreds of games where the other team's ranks were all higher then my team and no-one queued up together. The maps are actually well designed: Dust 2, Mirage, and Overpass are my favorites. TL;DR: great competitive game when you are winning, kind of like doing heroin. ONLY PLAY WITH FRIENDS TO GET ANY ENJOYMENT. Hope CS2 is much better. Edit: I was able to get to Supreme, however it is literally impossible to win any more games because the game just automatically puts me in games that are filled with LE's or lower and expects me to carry every game. The other team is of course global smurfs or just simply global. I have tried five times to win atleast three games while I am in supreme but the SBMM is actual trash that I keep on deranking because of either my team not working together, or the opposite team is just a five-queue full of globals. I tried to work around this but it is simply impossible to solo queue to global in the current SBMM. I am begging Valve to fix this broken system and actually place teams of actual equal skill against each other. I just want a good game. Unfortuantly with the current system it will either be me carrying my team and winning 16-5 or the opposite where the enemy team is a five-queue and they win 16-5. Just give me a fair game. I have tried to get better and better by learning new utility, watching demos, getting better game sense. I feel like this time is wasted because these skills do not apply when you are against novas or a five-queue. It is unfair since I have noone that is near my rank to play with so I have to keep on getting destroyed every game from things that are out of my control. I also changed my map rotation so that I would actually get people that are the same rank as me. In that map rotation was only 2 maps: Mirage and Overpass. Eventually those maps got infected so I cannot play any maps were I encounter people of my skill. I do not have a bad trust factor, at least I don't think I do since Valve does not tell me. I have lowered my score from 70 to what you see now because of these recent attempts. 62/100
