4/5 ★ – DarrensTrashBag's review of Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

It is embarrassing to admit to people that I have played this game. Especially the moments of Poppi being booted up, the scene where Mythra sleeps in the boys room, and Rex yelling "We'll beat them, with the power of friendship." However, I want people to look around those obvious Anime clichés and see how great this game is. I very much prefer the art-style of Xenoblade 1 more. Xenoblade 2 still has incredible moments. Firstly, the combat seemed slow at first, but if you put time into understanding it, it becomes better than 1's combat. The switching of blades and canceling arts makes the combat just more interesting. The worst part is the gotcha system with the blades. Yes, there are pity blades, but getting some of the best blades requires a lot of luck. The explorable worlds are incredible, specifically Uraya, Letheria, and Morytha. The soundtrack is incredible. The antagonists Malos, Jin, and Amalthus are incredibly well written. Rex sucks at screaming but is very good at emotional scenes. The Zekenator is peak fiction. I would just suggest powering through the first fifteen hours, it is worth it. 84/100
