5/5 ★ – Dehds's review of Arid.

It's definitely an epic game for a student project! It looks really nice and there's many beautiful sights and excellent voice acting. My first playthrough was on the hardest difficulties and indeed I felt like I was fighting to survive, as my water supplies were running low fast, I was quickly consuming the resources of the areas, so I had to be on the move and couldn't stay at one place for long. The monster reminded me of childhood monsters, as in they have to follow your silly imaginary rule, which gives you ultimate safety. Replaying the game for the achievements on easy, was quite the opposite, though, very relaxed and nothing much to worry about, just exploring at will. Didn't encounter many bugs, except one when I was walking around mid-day during the last areas of the game, and for a second nighttime flashed and it got back to daytime but the monster spawned and they kept being there during the day too for the rest of the game, and a few minor ones when the voice lines stopped playing and the animation for interacting with things stopped happening, both of which were fixed after reloading the game. And finally I do appreciate the surprise in the secret area.
