3.5/5 ★ – DerGreenNinja's review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown.

This is an interesting twist on the XCOM formula because it's basically a turn-based beat 'em-up. A constantly changing stage keeps you moving and thinking about how to engage each threat. Every Turtle has his own way of dealing damage, building up status effects and moving opponents. Though like in Tactical Breach Wizards it's still a lot about pushing guys off ledges. The visuals are weird but flow together in an interesting way. The characters move like in a boardgame, character art looks a bit like notebook comics and the music has a grungy garage vibe to it which all combines into a game that feels very "homemade" which I appreciate. Story is about the Turtles getting back together after a tragedy. Not a new story for them but it's written well. I do find it weird however how the designs of the Turtles and other characters are based on their '87 cartoon version which doesn't really mesh well with the story and character beats. Overall, a real interesting game with some odd but design choices
