3.5/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV.

Spoiler Warning - End Game Last night, on a bit of a whim, I started and completed "A King's Tale". As a fan of FFXV I figured I'd re-visit this franchise and see what extra lore this might have had hiding in its short run time. And I do mean Short. I think I beat this game in under 2 hours but I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable it was. Its set up like a side scrolling brawler but with added abilities like Magic and Companions. Once you summon a companion to battle you can also use them in your big special move the Armiger. I enjoyed gathering all my "friends" and going to town on the hordes of enemies in every level. What I enjoyed the most is that this is a bed time story and whats a good story without some surprises? This made it possible to fight Ultros in this final area of the game, one of my favorite villains in the franchise. Just when I thought I was about to finish the game and put the controller down I had unlocked "Dream Battles" which are optional and add a bit more challenge than the ones found in the campaign. I got through all of those as well and I never really got bored as the game play was enjoyable more was it long to complete. All that being said, this game is short, doesn't waste your time, its fun, adds just a sprinkle of lore to the FFXV story and best of all its FREE. You can't beat that.
