5/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of Bloodborne.
I never got into Demon Souls, Dark Souls or any of the sequels but with all the hype surrounding Bloodborne I knew it was a game I needed to play. I found a sweet steel case of this game at Gamestop and snatched it up immediately and started my decent into madness.
First of all let me start by saying that I did EVERYTHING WRONG on my first play through. I accidently attacked every fucking character in this game that I was either suppose to save or speak with thinking they were my enemy. One particular character was dressed as a crow and he never let me forget my mistake. Oh sure I still managed to kill him but damn was he hard. But this game played amazingly and I loved the risk / reward system when it came to confronting different enemies. I hate dying so much. I do. But something about this game made it easy to come back to and retry levels and also try to get my blood stones backs. I never felt safe. Even when I was leveled up and beating ass I still felt I could get my ass handed to me if I made 1 wrong move. Then of course of you have this Lovecraftian feel to it all and it always felt terrifying. I loved that and I really enjoyed my time. But I couldn't finish this game because it scared my wife so I had to put it away. I'm looking forward to restarting the game fresh and knowing what I know now I can make sure to save everyone this time. This game is a gem and a horror masterpiece.
