5/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of Castlevania: Lament of Innocence.
I didn't care a whole lot for 2D Castlevania games as a kid. In fact most of the once I've played later also didn't do much for me and then....there came... Lament of Innocence. Shout out to my boy Ray who lent me this game in the first place. I honestly don't remember if I still have it in my possession or not.
But not having to deal with 2D was great, in fact, I really loved playing this game since it was around the time I was really getting into Horror and everything about this world just spoke to me. The Asthetics, the archatecture of the castle, the soundtrack, the look and feel of it, i mean, it was ill. The attacks felt really good too, and there were so many hidden secrets to find I remember I took a day just to collect all the things i've missed. And then just when I didn't think the game couldn't get any cooler I unlocked the Basement.....
The Forgotten One is probably on of my favorite looking creatures of any game and taking it down just felt soooooo gawddamn good. I'm so glad Konami fond its footing on the PS2 since the other 3D entries on the N64 just didn't look very good to me. I don't know how well it would feel today but i think I'd try playing it again if it was easilly accessable. Until then, 5 stars for a great memory.
