3.5/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of Crackdown 2.

Creating sequels of sandbox games is a tricky thing. See they made some upgrades and gave a few more toys to play with, and they were a lot fun as well, but it didn't do enough to stand apart on its own. For one, I was disappointed that the developers decided to put you in a suit instead of letting you see your character and his development into a battle hardened warrior. It was also set in the same city so I felt like I was treading overly familiar ground. It still had that same fun loop or collecting orbs, finding upgrade energies and unlocking new weapons but it never felt like it did anything new despite its additions. If you never played the first game, Crackdown 2 is still a fun game and really quite enjoyable but I just couldn't give it as much love as the first. Admittedly I did have a fun time with the soundtrack I decided to give it. While playing I had a lot of synth wave, dark synth, metal step and alternative metal playing off my iPod which really got me hype when running around the city shooting down criminals.
