2/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of Demon's Crest.

Clearly you have to have nostalgia for this game for it to really hit home. I didn't get the chance to play this back in the day but had heard good things about it so I decided to step into the bleek world of Demon's Crest. The game sprite work is great and the creature designs are so damn cool. But this game suffers from the same curse that other early Capcom side scrollers had and that is its ridiculous difficulty. I understand it really starts coming together once you've leveled up your gargoyle and unlocked a bunch of useful spells, potions and powers but even with everything unlocked (I used cheats, so sue me) some of this games final bosses are absolutely brutal! Controlling Firebrand also feels terrible as everything feels so stiff (hold the gargoyle puns). After a short time I understand why this game has its fans but it's just not something I feel the need to grind at today.
