2.5/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of Duke Nukem Forever.

This was not a good game. As far as first persons shooters are concerned this didn't do a lot to impress me. There was a lot of Duke Nukem comedy, which is good, I suppose. The guns were fun, the creature designs were good and it did have some interesting ideas sprinkled throughout the adventure, but the difficulty and the god awful loading times made this game hard to come back to. How was the loading that fucking bad? We're talking 2011, loading might have been pretty hard core for open world games but FPS games? Maybe I'm giving that generation too much credit but I couldn't deal with it. The on top of it all this game was LONG. Far to long for this kind of game. I mean sure it'll keep you busy but I felt there was a lot of fluff that could have been scraped to keep the game tight and quick. While I consider myself a fan of the Duke Nukem character his adventures sound like they could find a good home in comic book because I think his time as a video game hero has passed.
