2.5/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of Immortal Redneck.
When I first came across this game, it reminded me of older PC shooters and I have a soft spot for that look. From the screen shots and the trailers the game looks fantastic! But there was a lot in here that I really didn't care for. I was able to get through the first pyramid of 3 and unlocked a few items, characters and weapons but the problem with this game is that, if you lose your lives or quite the run you have to start back at the entrance of the Pyramids and work you way back up. This is such horseshit and this always feels like developers trying to pad out the game instead of allowing players to get back to where they left off. The game play was fun enough for a while so I was able to get around that shitty design choice but once I got into the second pyramid, there were even more floors and the level designs were horrendous. I tried my hand at it but this game really tested my patience. Someone also thought it was a cool idea to add items in the game that completely replaced the weapons you have. So in case you were holding on to something awesome you could lose it and have a array of shitty weaponry right before a major fight. Garbage.
The game play is there, the weapons are there, and the nostalgia factor is there but there are to many design choices that suck the fun right out of it.
