4/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of Just Cause 3.

I was unaware of how much fun this franchise was. I'd never played a Just Cause game until 3 and it was a fantastic time. The gunplay and action was pretty solid and taking down the enemy one site at a time felt so good. Watching their power over the land dwindle over time was incredibly satisfying as I was brining peace back to this country. My go to weapons were the Revolvers, the Machine Gun with the drum and the Scorpion Launcher. The of course over powered weapons like the lightning gun cleared out whole platoons of foes and made it easy to blow up some of the bigger satellites in the game. I won't lie, I totally cheesed that weapon. But some of my favorite moments was just sneaking around and placing mines on destructible objects throughout town, hiding and making things go boom. Traversing the open world weather through paraglider, rocket pack or just by car (or in this case sports car with a gun), was so wonderful and relaxing. Being able to see the world they created without too much drama was delightful. I mean, unless I accidently hit an enemy with my car which would then set off alarms and then I would be cased down like a dog. But side objectives like finding prayer spots, tombs and hidden weapons parts was just icing on the cake. I would love clearing maps of enemies then go back and find all that there was to find in the area. I loved it. And the soundtrack was so beautiful for a game about blowing shit up. The overworld themes were so peaceful. Admittedly, the gameplay did get a little monotonous at times and the game is weird in how reinforcements work. I could have massacred a bunch of dudes in a convoy, but if one was alive and had enough time he'd alert his buddies to our location. But what I found weird was that I'd decimate dudes left and right and some fucker would pop up out of now where and radio in for help like "Where the hell did he come from"? It felt like the game would spawn enemies around you when you weren't looking and that could easily overwhelm you with gun fire. I died a lot of cheap deaths due to this. Still, now that I've played this game, Just Cause 4 is now on my list of games to buy in the future. I need a little break from the action, but I can't wait to get back into the fight.
