1.5/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of Quake 4.
Funny I'm reviewing this game after "Perfect Dark Zero" as they are the 2 worst game I've ever played on the 360 system. Okay, let me rephrase that. They are the the 2 Worst EXPEREINCES on my Xbox 360.
The first time I played Q4 was at a friends house who was an early adopter of the 360. The graphics looks great, the gun play was solid and I was big fan of the shot gun. I played all of an hour of it and really enjoyed my time with it. Unfortunately that would be the last time I'd play it for some years. I found this game for a small amount of money at Gamestop and decided to take it with. After playing so many great games on the console, and many that looked far better than this one, it made Q4 seem, well, not quite as fun. I still had a good time blasting things away but then came the nightmare scenario.
Right after your character is "transformed" you go through a few lengthy cutscene, which cannot be skipped. Then you have to get through some pretty tough enemies right after. But once I got killed I had to sit through those un-skippable scenes and this happened again and again and it didn't help that the loading in this game was trash too. I must have waisted 2 hours of my life trying to get through this area but it was just moving at a snails pace and I couldn't keep playing anymore. Any love I had for this game died in great way. These days we can Skip all those cutscenes but unfortunately this game just wasn't made with that idea in mind.
