3.5/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of Spider-Man & Venom: Separation Anxiety.

I call this the SORTA SEQUEL to the Maximum Carnage for a few reasons. First off, the game looked cheaper and I didn't have that cool comic book aesthetic the first game had. It also had no cutscenes. Thought these were weird choices as it was made by the same development team. The game, although a beat em up, played a bit differently from the last and didn't have quite as many interesting marvel characters to call on for assistance. Although difficult, it wasn't nearly as difficult as the first, which was appreciated. The enemies still got cheap hits in but I always felt it was far more fair. This included boss characters. The level design also felt a bit more bland but still nice looking I suppose. With all that said, yeah I enjoyed this game a bit and was even interested in owning at one point. I don't think I'd replay it today though.
