2.5/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of Strafe.

I went into "Strafe" without knowing much about it other than it was designed as a retro shooter from the eras of early Quake and Doom. This was enough to get me onboard and I found it on a black Friday sale on the PSN store, win win, so I thought. After spending some time in this game I realized how fucking hard this game was and without proper save points or descent recovery items the experience was more frustrating than fun. Not to say this game wasn't enjoyable. Once I threw it on Easy mode it was a little more my speed but still pretty hard. I can definitely see "Strafe" being someone's guilty pleasure as it does have some fast and frantic gameplay and a dope ass Synthwave Soundtrack done by ToyTree. Had this titled been a little more forgiving with its saves, health items and difficulty I might have given it some more time but as of right now I have a few other games I'd like to try to get through before the end of the year....I mean, if I can.
