1/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of Super Godzilla.
Let me be very clear, this game is NOT good. While it looked awesome the game play was garbage. As with the Godzilla game on the original NES, you have to battle through army men, tanks and all sorts of weapons before reaching the stage boss. You can stumble onto some upgrades and power boosters but sometimes trying to collect those is more trouble than they are worth. Eventually you do fight classic Toho monster but only after your life has been whittled down by weapon obstacles even the buildings you destroy that may be in your path. After going through this bullshit the game tries to pit you between Gidora, Hidora, Biollante and others where the combat is one of the most confusing things I've ever experienced in any game over the last 37 years. To try and describe Monster combat would only confuse you if you've never played this game. If done right you could see some pretty cool battles take place and watch short cutscenes of monsters hit eachother with claws, tails and ranged attacks like Godzillas atomic breath until there emerges a victor. I would never in good conscious recommend this game to retro gamers, instead if you ever feel any interest in this game, watch a playthrough on YouTube. It's far more enjoyable that way.
