3/5 ★ – Diluted_Thought's review of Velocity 2X.
The game was fun until it wasn't. Velocity really hooked me with its great progression in difficulty and its side scrolling action. It had some cool puzzle elements that I really enjoyed I was running through most of this game without much back tracking. But at some point this game demands that you get perfect scores on earlier levels in order to progress to or unlock the next level. Because I was doing a pretty good job with most levels this was never an issue until the last leg of the game where it demanded excellence and at that point, having to back track and play the longer levels no longer felt fun. It just felt like a chore. Up until that point I really enjoyed my time with it, but I thought that locking levels behind a Score Wall was ridiculous. Whose bright idea was that?
