3/5 ★ – Dima064's review of LEGO The Incredibles.

I've always loved The Incredibles movie, so it was only a matter of time when I bought this game and beat it. Unfortunately I can't justify it's price, but I still think the game is worth playing at least on sale, as LEGO games tend to be cheap every time. The base story is an ok adaptation, trying to make it so it would make sense in a movie and in LEGO. That's why we always get encounters like Bob and Lucius in the island against the giant robot, since LEGO is generally a 2P Co-Op experience. The voice acting, graphics and animations are top-notch, I'd even say close to a fully-fledged CGI movie, although I'd really prefer if everything around you was built out of LEGOs. The main gameplay loop is where the problem is. Either it's because the LEGO games from Traveler's Tales are not for me, or the gameplay really is tedious right here, feeling like a busy work more than something fun. I guess since the games always make money and they are considered first and foremost for children, I shouldn't complain, but it's my main issue here. Especially the 100% route. You have to collect by every nook and cranny, so much so that some unlocked characters are only there because they are and they're useless in gameplay. So to sum it up, it's the most LEGO game of all LEGO games. Nothing unique, just something that already worked before, so why fix it? I suggest only buying it on sale and playing just the main campaign with a friend.
