5/5 ★ – DoseofLux's review of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey.

Well. My 100th GG log. I thought I might try something a bit different this time and celebrate this moment with one of the most praised Mario RPGs. Typically, I like to play games just for the fun of it. I never really look into the nitty gritty details of it because I am an optimist and don't want to come off as whiny. As a result, this kind of impact makes a lot of games fall under my average ratings and leaves me to take even the most famous games of all time for granted, such as Ocarina of Time. I went into this game thinking that it can be a nice, lengthy adventure to come back to from time to time for relaxation, but... wow! WOW!!! Turns out this is legitimately amazing! It's a fun, clever adventure that blends the strength of the player without making any gameplay mechanics feel forced, which helps retain the charm of the gameplay. Not just that, there's also a new story mode that takes a different RPG approach, which makes it feel like there's a whole extra story right under our noses. It's actually really fun to grind through and I felt encouraged to just keep going and try to beat every level! Altogether, I was surprised by how much fun I had with this! Partners in Time and Superstar Saga were already fun, but Bowser's Inside Story... WOW, was it a joy to play!
