5/5 ★ – ENSeventea's review of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

****** REVIEW HAS STORY SPOILERS****** There is a couple QoL things that I hope a patch can bring but I don't think that is enough for me to bring it down from what an amazing game this was. From the story, to the combat, to the characters, to the exploration. I truly appreciated that Gustav and Sophie were ex's it feels a lot more sombre. Especially considering it doesn't seem like they had a bad relationship just wanted different things in life. I can relate. I don't hold any ill will towards my exs and I feel like this is one of those situations where "well should you care?" they're no longer meant to be a part of your life. But at the end of the day they left a mark whether good or bad and it WILL shape you. So what do you do? I had no idea where this story was going. And it all to boil down to despair and grief over losing a loved one and wanting to see them again/live on so you can cope. I have thankfully never lost anyone in such a horrific way. But having that melancholic feeling some nights wishing you could speak with them again. I get it. The choice at the end - I feel was clear to me. You need to move on, and unfortunately I don't think living in a fantasy world is the right way to go. It saddens me that Lune, Sciel, Gustav, Esquie, Monoco were not real people but painted into this world. But I feel like it was the right choice to make. This was absolute cinema. I teared up. I can not wait to see what Sandfall create next. Just holy shit dude.
