4.5/5 ★ – Empyrean's review of Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars.

“Don’t shoot! I’m innocent! I’m an American!” “Can’t make up your mind, eh?” Fantastic writing, memorable characters, an engaging story, and mostly logical puzzles, the original Broken Sword has barely aged a day (provided you can already tolerate point and click adventures). Some issues like excessive backtracking, slow dialogue, and a somewhat rushed finale hold it back a bit, but it still stands tall alongside the best LucasArts 90s hits. Also the goat isn’t that bad, come on.
