4.5/5 ★ – Empyrean's review of Hitman: Blood Money.
Whilst I prefer the atmosphere of the earlier games, especially Contracts, and the gameplay would go on to be even further refined in the World of Assassination trilogy, Blood Money is still the most consistently excellent entry in the franchise. The maps are unique and diverse (although only two are outside of the US for some reason), the story and framing device are arguably still the best in the series, the notoriety mechanic and newspapers, whilst not fully fleshed out, are fun and something I missed in later entries, the soundtrack is top tier, and Bateson continues to get even better as 47.
It may seem somewhat dated coming off the later games, but Blood Money is still very impressive and stands toe-to-tie with the best of the genre.
