Open beta thoughts: It’s absolutely insane to me that a company with infinite wealth like Amazon can put out something that looks this bad. The phrase “looks like a PS3 game” is overused these days, but this genuinely does. Some of the worst hair textures I’ve seen in years. But how does it play? Also like shit! Combat is completely weightless, although there’s a decent selection of starting classes and you can even cosplay Guts right off the bat. I didn’t play the original release so I can’t comment on how much of an improvement this is, but if it was worse than this… yikes. In a post-FFXIV ARR world MMORPGs really need to up their game, and Amazon are already two generations behind. I’m not sure what their plan is over there but after numerous disastrous releases they need some serious course correction.
