3.5/5 ★ – Empyrean's review of Pandemonium!.

Edit: I’ve just realised this was developed by Toys For Bob who made the N. Sane Trilogy. Very funny that 20 years later and they still couldn’t figure out how to make a working platformer, although this is a far better attempt. It’s funny just how normal this game is compared to its sequel, and this is not a normal game. The final boss is a cartoon eyeball, called The Eyeball, who uses a giant cannon. I guess the devs hadn’t discovered LSD yet. The only way to have fun with Pandemonium is to use cheats and rewind. It commits the cardinal sin of a platformer by being frustratingly difficulty AND having unresponsive controls, and that’s even without playing Fargus who doesn’t even have a double jump. If you completely remove all difficulty from the game, it’s a blast! Gorgeous visuals, great music, and a fun sense of humour (Shatner’s Toupee?”). A good time but mostly outshined by 2.
